Anyone who's read my blog elsewhere know's that I love a good Hotel Indigo. So when a work trip to Stratford Upon Avon came up this week and I saw an Indigo on offer. Why not?! What I didn't know was quite how good the Hotel Indigo Stratford Upon Avon was going to be. Now when I say the statement that it was the best hotel that I've stayed in ever that might sound dramatic. But here's the thing. Yes of course if you stay in a £1k a night hotel I'm sure that it would be better. However for £160 a night? Genuinely this is the best hotel I've ever stayed in! Let's start with the simple things - it's built just off the high street in Stratford. For…
As part of the 2020 goals I'm trying to spend less time on social media. I've now started to put my phones in the office before we head to bed. There is two fold in this reason. Firstly one of my aims for the year was to read more books. If I'm scrolling around on social media I'm going to be wasting time where I could be reading. It's also meaning that I'm switching off at night as well to help me get a better night's sleep...The only problem is that come the next morning I've got nothing to wake me up! Hence why I've bought a JBL Horizon End of last year I bought a really cheap alarm clock but it was for ever lighting up the room at…
Millions of travellers daily use the London tube network. What millions of travellers perhaps don't realise is the many different tunnels, dissused stations, branch lines and other bit's and pieces of the network still exist. Many of which for one reason or another are now either blocked up, not in use or just left derelict. Some of these stations are left to rot away, others are used for filming such as the Aldwich branch line and others like the Down Street Tunnels are occasionally opened by Hidden London for members of the public to look around them. Their mix of history, architecture and the chance to get to see parts that many people don't see is one of the less known experiences in London. They also get booked up VERY…
Africa is the birthplace of humankind. But how many of us have already been to Africa? It's always been on my bucket list to go on a Safari! It's about as far away from other places on my bucket list that are ticked off like New York. The truth is that it is a HUGE continent with a variety of countries and cultures that are worth exploring and discovering. Where did our ancestors come from? It’s an impossible question to answer. While the latest scientific research indicates that modern human life started in South Africa, there is so much more to see in this rich and varied continent. If you are ready to take a trip through the history of humanity, Africa needs to be on top of your list.…
I've always dreamed of Owning a holiday home. Although it's not on my 2020 goals list - if you asked me for my goals for the 20's it would be on there! Only a handful of people will witness that dream becoming a reality. If you’re lucky enough to have the finances to purchase a holiday home, there are several things that you need to consider!! Unlike purchasing a home in your country, there are certain things that you need to be aware of. These include local laws regarding home buying, the amenities that are nearby and what will happen to the property when you’re away. You also need to think about home loans and how you are going to finance it. In the present climate with the global housing…
