Second part of my weekend was @nashvillesuperspeedway for the @indycar championship final which saw @alexpalou crowned a 3 time champion in the series. Having also done the @indianapolismotorspeedway #indy500 this year it was great to see another race! Also got myself paddock pass and it’s such good value to be able to get up close to all the teams, cars and drivers. #indycar for me really is the best value and exciting racing on the planet!

36 hours in Nashville. Was meant to watching the baseball @nashvillesounds but sadly the weather got the better of the match. Then onto the @nashvillesuperspeedway on the Sunday for a full on day of @indycar racing and to see the end of the season! So tired at the end of the busy weekend but was great weekend away!

Great fun this evening at my first @dodgers game! Giving everything that #losangeles and the #usa has to offer a try! Great win for the #dodgers! Tried the food, got some merch, bought a drink and tried to say out of the sun! It was a hot one out there! Only Downside was taking an hour to get out of the stadium! What an enjoyable night though!

Join me at the @f1exhibition @excellondon! What a great couple of hours this was exploring @f1 history. Even as a self confessed F1 geek there was still lots to see and do. If you’re just a casual fan there is a lot of facts and figures that will give you more of an understanding about the sport. Lots to like from the cars, bits of history and the Grosjean Hass which is shown at the end of the exhibition. Personal headsets allow you to listen to clips in your own time or speed. Also numbers are limited which never made the whole time feel cramped when exploring. Make sure you catch it until the end of December!

I’m excited to announce, that from Thursday 5th September, I will be working out of our global HQ in Los Angeles until the end of December 2024, working on a number of different projects for the business. This will allow me to spend time with our wider group Senior Leadership on the development of the Martin brand globally along with other things. Will be a great opportunity for me personally and professionally.
I will be at PLASA Sunday/Monday so looking forward to catching up with many EMEA customers before I head off. And of course if you find yourself in LA please do let me know as it would be great to catch up!

A brilliant afternoon @f1exhibition! As a @f1 geek the exhibition had a mix of everything. From the history from the 1950’s right through to the modern day stuff. And even as someone who knows the sport so well there was stuff I learnt as well! It was so beautifully done and had some really cool exhibits. I think as a first time fan or certainly one from the #drivetosurvive generation you would learn so much about the sport as well. It’s on till December @excellondon so make sure you get your tickets!

I love a good Indigo Hotel! Of all the reviews you'll find on this site - the Indigo brand is one of my favourites. So when the team at Hotel Indigo Bath asked me to do a review for them of their newly opened hotel I was more than willing! The Indigo hotel chain which is part of the IHG group of hotels is their more boutique brand. Not so much copy and paste like you might find in a Holiday Inn. More the type which plays on local history, the local styling etc... Earlier in 2020 I stayed at Hotel Indigo Stratford and this was an excellent example. I've always liked Bath as a city, it's probably because I spent a load of my childhood growing up and living in Cambridge that I've always found the city to be a great place to visit. The mixture of the old stone work, the historical buildings, the narrow streets, and all the charm that this brings always makes for a nice trip to Bath. Due to the lack of choice of Hotels, I had a bit of an upgrade to a standard that I wouldn't usually go for on my recent stay here. The M Gallery Francis Hotel sits high up in the Accor range of hotels. This is no Ibis! There are a few Mercure Hotels in Bristol, but by far my favourite of the bunch is the Mercure Bristol Grand Hotel. Set close to the shops and a number of fine restaurants the Grand has recently been refurbished and mixes some quirky and designer styling with a very practical and comfortable offering. First impressions on walking into the hotel foyer is that this is something a bit different to other Mercure hotels. With nice designed lighting (love good lighting in a hotel!) some beautiful art work and then a non standard reception desk - it's all pointers to something a little better! The Brigstow hotel is set on the banks of the River Avon, very close to the city centre and some of the best bit's that Bristol has to offer! Some great restaurants are within walking distance, the @Bristol science centre is close by if you want something to do and if you are looking for a bit of evening entertainment the Bristol Old Vic and Bristol Hippodrome are again both within 5 min walk. The room was clean and tidy and very presentable as a business hotel. I must say I did feel that the room was firstly quite dark even once the curtains were open - but certainly with my travel I'm mostly in the room in the evening.
