Billesley Manor Hotel Review

For someone who used to spend every week at some point with my bag packed travelling somewhere it's been a bit of a change staying at home and not heading off somewhere. When the lovely people at Billesley Manor Hotel invited us for a stay though we couldn't wait to get the bag packed and on our way to this hotel and spa! Billesley Manor Hotel is a stone’s throw from the town of Stratford-upon-Avon, Shakespeare penned his comedy ‘As You Like It’ here in 1599. The hotel has just completed an extensive £5.6m refurbishment of it's buildings. There is a real mix of the interior styling. The main reception and bar areas are wooden panelled and emphasis the old…

British Motor Museum

Anyone who reads my blog or follows me on social media channels will know I'm a petrol head. I've done a number of posts of my dream cars and also some of the amazing things like the Indy 500. In the heart of the UK is Motoring history. Lots of the historical car manufacturing took place here, and the likes of Jaguar Land Rover and Aston Martin have their modern day bases here. Also situated here is the British Motor Museum. The British Motor Museum is home to the world’s largest collection of historic British Cars; it boasts nearly 300 cars in its collection which span the classic, vintage and veteran eras. The Museum opened in 1993 as the amalgamation…

Top 10 things to do in Cambridge

I've done a number of other top 10 things to do in various other cities such as my trips to Barcelona or New York but this one is a little closer to home with the Top 10 things to do in Cambridge. For those who don't know Cambridge is my home town. I was born in the city and apart from a few years living in Colchester I've been in and around the city for most of my life. Cambridge is a wonderful city. Yes it's full of students and yes they are annoying when the ride 10 abreast down the road.... However don't let this distract you from the Top 10 things to do in Cambridge. So what's number…

Lapland Silverstone

Just before xmas we headed off to Lapland Silverstone. For me (and anyone who knows me) I'm a massive petrol head. The fact that we did Route 66, Indy 500, and multiple other race events should give you this clue! So for the ability to take our own car onto the world famous Silverstone Race Circuit was something that we couldn't turn down. To add even more to this the track was being lit up with lots of lighting and effects. Given that this is the day job and something I'm equally passionate about the whole Lapland experience was like a perfect match!   So one cold December evening we headed off to Silverstone. As we approached the circuit from…

Hotel Indigo Bath Review

I love a good Indigo Hotel! Of all the reviews you'll find on this site - the Indigo brand is one of my favourites. So when the team at Hotel Indigo Bath asked me to do a review for them of their newly opened hotel I was more than willing! The Indigo hotel chain which is part of the IHG group of hotels is their more boutique brand. Not so much copy and paste like you might find in a Holiday Inn. More the type which plays on local history, the local styling etc... Earlier in 2020 I stayed at Hotel Indigo Stratford and this was an excellent example. Lots of theatrical references, playing on the Shakespeare name etc... I…
