If you have followed this blog or indeed follow me on instagram you should know (if you don't what rock are you hiding under?!) that I'm a massive motor sports fan. From doing the triple crown of Le Mans, Indy 500 and Monaco Grand Prix. This year we also headed to the Daytona 500 - another "classic" race. Basically I can't get enough of anything to do with 4 wheels, a large engine and them going around a track. So when F1 opened the Formula 1 Arcade end of last year - this was definitely on the "must do" list. I've been a couple of times now to the London venue both with my wife and also with a group of friends. So what did I make of the Formula One…
Dear British Airways, It’s not me, It’s you. I really tried my best to love you and be with you but I think it’s time we had the “chat”. It sounds like a breakup letter – and in some ways I guess that’s how I feel at this very moment. So here’s the thing. I fly a lot in the year. Yes not as much as some people but a lot more than a lot of people. I’ll probably end up this year at around the 40-50 flights for the year. Not quite a flight a week but really not far off. I would say that 90% of those flights are on British Airways. The other 10% either with budget carriers (because of locations they fly) or they are an…
For someone who used to spend every week at some point with my bag packed travelling somewhere it's been a bit of a change staying at home and not heading off somewhere. When the lovely people at Billesley Manor Hotel invited us for a stay though we couldn't wait to get the bag packed and on our way to this hotel and spa! Billesley Manor Hotel is a stone’s throw from the town of Stratford-upon-Avon, Shakespeare penned his comedy ‘As You Like It’ here in 1599. The hotel has just completed an extensive £5.6m refurbishment of it's buildings. There is a real mix of the interior styling. The main reception and bar areas are wooden panelled and emphasis the old history of the 16th Century building. However this is tempered…
Anyone who reads my blog or follows me on social media channels will know I'm a petrol head. I've done a number of posts of my dream cars and also some of the amazing things like the Indy 500. In the heart of the UK is Motoring history. Lots of the historical car manufacturing took place here, and the likes of Jaguar Land Rover and Aston Martin have their modern day bases here. Also situated here is the British Motor Museum. The British Motor Museum is home to the world’s largest collection of historic British Cars; it boasts nearly 300 cars in its collection which span the classic, vintage and veteran eras. The Museum opened in 1993 as the amalgamation of the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust’s preserved car collection.…
I've done a number of other top 10 things to do in various other cities such as my trips to Barcelona or New York but this one is a little closer to home with the Top 10 things to do in Cambridge. For those who don't know Cambridge is my home town. I was born in the city and apart from a few years living in Colchester I've been in and around the city for most of my life. Cambridge is a wonderful city. Yes it's full of students and yes they are annoying when the ride 10 abreast down the road.... However don't let this distract you from the Top 10 things to do in Cambridge. So what's number one of the top 10 things to do in Cambridge?…
