Anyone who know's me know's my love for all things 4 wheeled. The faster the better for me - so when I was invited down by LV Car Insurance to a combined maintenance and F1 pitstop challenge event - I instantly had to say yes! Since about the age of 8 or 9 I've loved F1, been to the racetracks followed the teams and although I've grown out of it (who'm I kidding!) always dreamed that I would have the opportunity to work in F1. A few months ago I went on a charity karting day and one of the challenges of the day was a F1 pit stop. However sadly at the time my team took the track we also did the F1 pitstop challenge so I got to…
Since the turn of 2017 I've made the promise to try and take more care of myself. It's not easy on the road all the time to stay in good shape or try not to look tired and worn out all the time. I've also been trying to make sure that I look after my skin as well as part of this deal. I spend a lot of time in dark, and sometimes dirty airless places and that can have a knock on to how my skin looks. This is where Bulldog skin care comes in. I have tried and tested a number of the more prominent "brands" of skin care in my time, but never felt that they carried good results. I decided at Xmas to give Bulldog a…
The Ford Ka+ is the new Supermini from Ford. Although the original Ka was launchd back in the mid 90’s the market segment has moved on a long way from the small 3 door models that rivalled supermarket trollies. Not only as customers have we come to expect better standards of quality in our motorcars, but as the cars have been getting bigger so has the market with more players from the likes of Kia, Hyundai and even the Dacia’s of this world coming in with commendable contenders. Read my thoughts below on my recent Ford Ka+ test drive.
After a short xmas break I was back on the road again! In the first few weeks of 2017 a short hop from Stansted with easyjet took me to Glasgow for an industry conference and exhibition. Given the conference was at the SEC there is really not a better place than the Crowne Plaza. Situated literally 2 minuets from the doors (or if you can work out the internal network of passages you don’t even have to go outside!) This modern, clean business focused hotel is a great place to stay. Not having stayed at a Crowne Plaza in a while I found the booking process on the website to be fast and efficient and this was continued to the standard of welcome at the hotel. The reception staff knew the…
I don’t often stay in Central London due to the close proximity to home and travel being simple, but due to a late finish and early start in December 2016 I tried out the Z Hotel Victoria. Following on from the very successful “simpler” room format mastered by the likes of Easy Hotels, there is a new breed of Hotel chains like Z Hotels which keep the rooms simple but in theory more cost effective. Pitched between the Easy Hotel and normal hotel chain its meant to bring luxury to simpler rooms. It’s possible to book the rooms with or without a window. Having stayed in windowless rooms before I can honestly say I don’t like them – so on this occasion I stayed away from these options when booking.…
