Route 66 Oklahoma Part 1

After leaving the smallest state in Kansas Route 66 we head to Route 66 Oklahoma! It was really noticable to see how the states were different. This sounds like an odd statement I know to make but in the way of the towns, the make up of the farm land and just what you saw. As you move further West on the route you see how each different state treats Route 66 and what they have as important. Oklahoma is no different to this. As the famous song goes "Oklahoma, where the wind comes sweepin' down the plain" and I really felt that I noticed this that things were more spread out and there was more farming in the state…

4 Excellent Road Trips To Rival Route 66

There are many amazing things about the good old “You-Ess-of-Ay'' and not many are more iconic than Route 66. The 2,500 miles, three-week drive from the east coast to the west coast along the once-bustling road is a dream on the bucket list of many travellers and one of the excellent road trips of the world. The road originally ran from Chicago, Illinois to Santa Monica, California across 7 states and multiple towns and cities but today only around 85% of the route remains. Decaying roads, dangerous conditions and route replacement have made a large section of Route 66 un-drivable and today, to travel the entire route, you will need to begin in Missouri and end in Arizona. Blogging in COVID

So I've been sort of wanting to write this post for a few weeks but not sure if I would publish it. I really made steps forward with the blog in 2020. Given the year that we all had that was good going and I was really pleased where the year ended. 2021 came around and I was looking forward to moving it forward more. But I haven't. Blogging in Covid is hard. I've just drawn a blank on a lot of things. I have my many posts of Route 66 to finish and I want to get those done but I had so many other plans for what I wanted to write about. However some of those things are…

The final of these is perhaps the most sketchy out of the three. It's the factor that plays the most subtle underhand to our plans. Sure, we want comfort and we need it to be within our budget, but where the accommodation is, the ease of access, and even things like transportation options plays a huge role. So we went through the tons and tons of accommodation types and sifted through them all to name the top 5 choices with these three things in mind. Out of the three attributes we are testing by, the cost and…

2021 Goals

I wrote my 2020 Goals in Mid January. Who would know what we would be facing only a few months later. The global pandemic wiped out a load of what we had planned for 2020!! So in writing my 2021 goals what have I thought about? Well some of what we set out to achieve in 2020 actually happened. I didn't list all of my goals in the post but one of the personal goals was getting a promotion at work. That happened in May. Sadly all our travel goals of course went out the window as things shut down. So my 2021 goals are really a sort of 2020.5 or a 2021 "Hybrid". With some carry over from 2020…
