Route 66 Illinois (Part 2)

If you haven't read part 1 of this journey you should go and do this before part 2! Also if you haven't read my Route 66 Tips and Tricks you should do that here! I started and intended that Illinois should be one post but there was just so much of Route 66 Illinois to cover off that I had to split it into 2 parts! So far we've seen lots of garages, a few statues, a prison as well as lots of cars and murals. Part 2 is going to have a LOT of cars, the state capitol and the border to the next state. Sit back and enjoy the read of the next stage of Route 66 Illinois.

Riffle Radio

This Corona Virus shut down has been tough at times. I've been trying to keep content on the blog going and I've started my mammoth Route 66 post.  But at the same time it's allow some cool things to happen which in a normal situation wouldn't normally. One of those things which happened this week was for me to record a Mixcloud recording on Riffle Radio show . Riffle Radio is run by the lovely Ruari Cormack who took my old job when I moved onto a new company. The premise of the show is to pick 9 tracks all around a deck of cards theme. So: Club - Classic Jack - Guilty Pleasure track Diamond Geezer - Male Vocalist…

Route 66 Illinois (Part 1)

Route 66 Illinois and the city of Chicago is the official start to the route. Not only is the "official" start sign it's also the state I think with the most things to do. From the city of Chicago that we loved, through to places like Pontiac (yes the home of Pontiac), the State capitol of Springfield, Joliet and Wilmington. If you are doing the more traditional route of East to West (like we started our journey). You'll get the sense of the whole trip starting and the enjoyment that's to come. There is so much history on this part of the route, you'll struggle at times to know when to stop and start! Because there is SO much in…

What cars are in my dream garage for less than £10k

So I wrote a post about a month ago about what cars would be in my dream garage. You can read that post here. I had a number of people message me and say that I should do a post on my dream garage but with a upper price limit of only £10,000. Whilst these perhaps might not be the dream dream garage cars it's also perhaps more realistic and achievable garage. In pulling this list together I've found cars on Auto Trader website up to the value of £10,000. I fully understand that this is time sensitive and you are perhaps reading this and you wouldn't be able to find the same sort of car for the same price…

Lay-Z-Spa Rio Hot Tub Review

When the start of Covid/Corona virus started to become apparent that we could be facing a long time in "shut down" we started to make plans about what we might want to get us through the next few months. In came some bikes as part of the social distancing measures, along with a PS4 for me. My other half for months had badgered me that we should get a hot tub for home. I made the excuse that I didn't want to get one whilst we lived in rented home as it would be difficult to move. That was until we saw the Lay-Z-Spa Rio Hot Tub at a local super market. Now this had been the hit of last…
