If you have followed this blog or indeed follow me on instagram you should know (if you don't what rock are you hiding under?!) that I'm a massive motor sports fan. From doing the triple crown of Le Mans, Indy 500 and Monaco Grand Prix. This year we also headed to the Daytona 500 - another "classic" race. Basically I can't get enough of anything to do with 4 wheels, a large engine and them going around a track. So when F1 opened the Formula 1 Arcade end of last year - this was definitely on the "must do" list. I've been a couple of times now to the London venue both with my wife and also with a group of friends. So what did I make of the Formula One…

Anyone who reads my blog or follows me on social media channels will know I'm a petrol head. I've done a number of posts of my dream cars and also some of the amazing things like the Indy 500. In the heart of the UK is Motoring history. Lots of the historical car manufacturing took place here, and the likes of Jaguar Land Rover and Aston Martin have their modern day bases here. Also situated here is the British Motor Museum. The British Motor Museum is home to the world’s largest collection of historic British Cars; it boasts nearly 300 cars in its collection which span the classic, vintage and veteran eras. The Museum opened in 1993 as the amalgamation of the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust’s preserved car collection.…

Just before xmas we headed off to Lapland Silverstone. For me (and anyone who knows me) I'm a massive petrol head. The fact that we did Route 66, Indy 500, and multiple other race events should give you this clue! So for the ability to take our own car onto the world famous Silverstone Race Circuit was something that we couldn't turn down. To add even more to this the track was being lit up with lots of lighting and effects. Given that this is the day job and something I'm equally passionate about the whole Lapland experience was like a perfect match! So one cold December evening we headed off to Silverstone. As we approached the circuit from a good few miles away you could see all the…

So this year we should have been going to the Monaco Grand Prix. It was all part of my 2020 goals. However of course Corona virus took hold and firstly we couldn't travel and secondly there wasn't a race! It was meant to be a "joint" 40th/30th for myself and Jo and the final part of the 3 great races bucket list having ticked off the Indy 500 in 2019. Even though we didn't make the F1 this year we're looking forward to getting back on it next year and heading down to the race weekend. Yes I'm sure it won't be as it would in a normal year but I'm sure it will still be an amazing time! Despite no travelling to any races this year I've still kept…

So I wrote a post about a month ago about what cars would be in my dream garage. You can read that post here. I had a number of people message me and say that I should do a post on my dream garage but with a upper price limit of only £10,000. Whilst these perhaps might not be the dream dream garage cars it's also perhaps more realistic and achievable garage. In pulling this list together I've found cars on Auto Trader website up to the value of £10,000. I fully understand that this is time sensitive and you are perhaps reading this and you wouldn't be able to find the same sort of car for the same price but I had to base it on something! Do you…

So anyone who follows this blog will know I'm a big car nut. Anything (within reason) with 4 wheels on and I'm interested. This doesn't apply to every vehicle - I mean a Dacia Sandero isn't exactly going to float my boat. But you get the idea. I've got a bucket list of things I want to do in life. I've also got a bucket list of Cars. Now these aren't all road legal and some let's say aren't the most practical but if money wasn't an object what would be positioned in my Dream Garage? Going straight in with a non road legal and non practical one as my first purchase! This is the most beautiful F1 car of all time. No question. Jordan was "my team" as a…

With the 2020 Grand Prix season nearly upon us I look back my day at Williams F1 Race Day Hospitality. I was lucky enough to get tickets to the day through my work who were sponsors of the team. Being a massive petrol head and motorsport fan read my Indy 500 post to understand how big a fan! This was a day I couldn't wait for and woke excitedly as we made our way to the factory. Williams has been one of the greatest F1 teams of all time. Although they aren't reaching the heights that they once were, they were the team to beat in the late 80's and 90's. Drivers like Mansell, Prost, Senna and Hill all drove for the team. Going back into the 80's various champions…

There is nothing better than freedom when it comes to travel. To get away from the schedules of planes and trains, you need to get behind the wheel of the car and embrace the freedom that comes with being out on the open road. You may not have considered a road trip for your next holiday, but this could be everything that you need for this year. We went on our road trip on Route 66 in the USA last year and frankly it was one of the best holidays that I've ever had! If you’re used to jet setting and seeing the world from the sky, you may not have considered how a road trip could change things for you. If you don't own a car right now, don’t…

So I've dreamt from an early age about going to the Indianapolis 500. The Indy 500 as it's known, Le Mans 24 hours and then Monaco Grand Prix are know as the triple Crown motorsport it's true test of men and women against the machine. Only a few drivers have won all three races, and famously Fernando Alonso tried in 2017 and again in 2019 (although he failed to qualify for this years race) The Indy 500 forms part of the Indycar Championship which takes place over USA and Candian race tracks. I start first started watching the CART Racing Championship (the name before Indycar) when Nigel Mansell went from being Formula One champion 1992 and then he headed to the USA for the 1993 CART Championship. In the days…

So a year ago I bagged myself a Golf. You can read about my first thoughts here. However now 30,000 miles in what has it been like to own, drive and run? Am I still saying it's 4.5*... Well read on my fellow petrol heads!
