I’ve always liked keeping track of things. Flights. Hotels. Countries. Miles. Not because I’m trying to gamify life, but because the numbers tell their own story. Some things like the Flights become a need - just to know what I'm doing. They capture a busy year in a way memory never quite can. After a time that one "trip" just becomes a blur. When I look back, I don’t just remember places all the time. Where I Actually Spent My Time Let’s start with the simple bit: where I physically was. According to the Country Days Tracker app I spent 306 days in the UK this year, which works out at 84% of the year. For someone who talks a lot about airports and boarding passes, that number might surprise…

I've been lucky to travel to a lot of the USA. With our Route 66 Road trip being one of my first introductions to the USA (apart from New York) I've now done 14 states. Ok that might not be as many as some - but having spoken with some American's who've not even left their county let alone their state, it's not probably a bad amount! However what are My Top 5 USA cities? There are many people from around the world who might only visit New York or perhaps Orlando with the theme parks. Whilst of course they are great and at least one of them might feature in this Top 5 there are so many other places that you as a visitor should be ticking off! Not…

Dubai, the jewel of the United Arab Emirates, is a city of dreams where modernity meets tradition, and where towering skyscrapers contrast with the vast, unending deserts. With its luxurious lifestyle, iconic landmarks, and a wide range of activities to choose from, Dubai offers an unforgettable experience for travelers. Of course if you're staying in Dubai you'll need a hotel - and I can really recommend the Hotel Indigo Dubai Downtown - have a read of my review here. Have a read of the following post about the Top 10 things to do in Dubai! Any visit to Dubai should start with a trip to the Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building. Standing at a staggering 828 meters, the Burj Khalifa offers breathtaking views of the city from its observation…

I have to say it - but this hotel is one of my favourite hotels in the world. Just everything about the Hotel Indigo Dubai Downtown is perfect. I'm as you will know a big fan of the Indigo brand from IHG. I've stayed at a number of them and another one of my favourites is Hotel Indigo Bath. But the Hotel Indigo Dubai Downtown tops this in every way. It's my must go to hotel in Dubai when I stay in the city and for everything that it has to offer there isn't much more that it has to offer. Nestled amidst the towering skyscrapers and bustling streets, this boutique hotel offers a tranquil oasis that provides the perfect escape from the city's hustle and bustle but also close…

If you have followed this blog or indeed follow me on instagram you should know (if you don't what rock are you hiding under?!) that I'm a massive motor sports fan. From doing the triple crown of Le Mans, Indy 500 and Monaco Grand Prix. This year we also headed to the Daytona 500 - another "classic" race. Basically I can't get enough of anything to do with 4 wheels, a large engine and them going around a track. So when F1 opened the Formula 1 Arcade end of last year - this was definitely on the "must do" list. I've been a couple of times now to the London venue both with my wife and also with a group of friends. So what did I make of the Formula One…

Dear British Airways, It’s not me, It’s you. I really tried my best to love you and be with you but I think it’s time we had the “chat”. It sounds like a breakup letter – and in some ways I guess that’s how I feel at this very moment. So here’s the thing. I fly a lot in the year. Yes not as much as some people but a lot more than a lot of people. I’ll probably end up this year at around the 40-50 flights for the year. Not quite a flight a week but really not far off. I would say that 90% of those flights are on British Airways. The other 10% either with budget carriers (because of locations they fly) or they are an…

I'm back. I wrote a post about blogging in COVD times back in early 2021. I wasn't really sure where life was going and taking me. Jo and I were getting married. Life was super busy (and that's not changed at ALL) and I think that I was just suffering from blogging burn out. I wasn't really enjoying working on this site any more and I was finding it a little bit of a chore. Well Jo and I have got married! We've got a beautiful little furry friend now called Max who joined us July 2021. My work continues now to go from strength to strength. I'm probably travelling more internationally than I've ever done. I'm rapidly heading towards my "mid 40's" which is scary to say the…

I've done a number of other top 10 things to do in various other cities such as my trips to Barcelona or New York but this one is a little closer to home with the Top 10 things to do in Cambridge. For those who don't know Cambridge is my home town. I was born in the city and apart from a few years living in Colchester I've been in and around the city for most of my life. Cambridge is a wonderful city. Yes it's full of students and yes they are annoying when the ride 10 abreast down the road.... However don't let this distract you from the Top 10 things to do in Cambridge. So what's number one of the top 10 things to do in Cambridge?…

Have you ever sat there and dreamt about that big lottery win? The last few months have seen the Euromillions Jackpot hit around the £120million mark. That's proper life changing amounts of money that you could do so much with. It's not just a few thousand you might get at work for a bonus but something you could change your life for good with. Jo and I were in the car the other day thinking of what we would do with £120m dream lottery win. The ironic side of things is that I don't often play the lottery. When it's only £10m I frankly don't bother. I know that's odd because £10m would change my life. But something doesn't make it worth while. I usually buy a ticket when it's…

What does your digital branding say about you? Does it say that you are a corporate jet set or a fun filled party person? With the development of social media and blogs peoples brands are becoming even more important. The first impression that many people have is what they see on social media. If you are looking for a new member of staff at your business I’m sure that at some point you’ll have a quick check on Facebook or perhaps other social media to see what they are all about and what they are posting. I wrote on my business website a whole piece about your own personal brand and what this says about you. Do people trust you? Is there belief in people believing what you are saying?…
