If I only stay for a few days, I prefer a safe option of a hotel (I travel solo mostly). If time allows, I like to stay in private accommodation which I can rent through friends or acquaintances. Not a fan of Airbnb if I’m honest or couch surfing myself (although I’ve offered couch surfing in the past and made many good connections).
