Few days late - but #December was an odd month for lots of reasons - but saw travel to #lasvegas for a big international trade show and then a short hop to #athens for the last visit of the year. Then a few parties for Xmas before stopping for a couple of weeks. Now back to the day job tomorrow!

Well that’s the last #hotelstay of 2023 done and the rest of the year will be spent in my own bed. I’ve not counted how many nights I’ve been in hotels this year (I don’t think I want to!) but at least with one chain I have had 70 nights as the app told me this morning! It’s all part and parcel of the job but also it’s not easy at times either.
My last stay this year was with #hotelindigo I do love an @hotelindigo hotel. On my blog and on here you can find many stays reviewed at #indigohotels across the world.
Last night was hotel indigo on #leicestersquare. I loved the theming and very apt for my last stay of the year to have all the #theatrical elements around.
Now a bit of time to rest and recharge ready for 2024!

As we ended our #Route1 journey up the west coast of #usa we arrived in #seattle. It was defiantly one of our more favourite stops of the whole trip even if it was very cold! We spent a load of time up the @spaceneedle with a wonderful dinner on our last night. We also visited Seattle where there was a whole new level of the city created. On our way back to the airport we visited the @boeing museum which was very geeky!

If you've not read about Illinois or Missouri you can read about these parts of the route from the Route 66 master page. We now enter into Kansas. Kansas is the smallest of the Route 66 states and if you didn't stop you could drive it in 10 minutes. However there is lots of reasons to stop! If you've ever seen the Disney film franchise Cars the town of Radiator Springs has had a large amount of influence of both Galena and Baxter Springs. These are the 2 towns you'll drive through in Kansas.

When you enter St Louis you come in via the state of Illinois. When you leave St Louis you are on Route 66 Missouri. St Louis for us was probably the "worst" city of the Route 66. I don't know what it was about the city - but for us it was a little disappointing and probably one of the only times we didn't feel safe on Route 66. We stayed downtown in a chain hotel and our night in the city walked to the Gateway Arch to get a good sight of the city at night. I love a good Indigo Hotel! Of all the reviews you'll find on this site - the Indigo brand is one of my favourites. So when the team at Hotel Indigo Bath asked me to do a review for them of their newly opened hotel I was more than willing! The Indigo hotel chain which is part of the IHG group of hotels is their more boutique brand. Not so much copy and paste like you might find in a Holiday Inn. More the type which plays on local history, the local styling etc... Earlier in 2020 I stayed at Hotel Indigo Stratford and this was an excellent example.
